Robert Masaichi Tokioka Jr.'s Obituary
Robert Masaichi "Boogie" "Bobby" Tokioka, Jr. of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away July 21, 2016 at Castle Medical Center. He was 75. Born in Honolulu on December 8, 1940 to parents Robert Masaichi Tokioka, Sr. and Eva Nani Marrotte Tokioka, he was the oldest of nine children and attended Kalakaua Intermediate School. He earned his General Education Diploma and then began a career as a roofer, eventually transitioning from roofing to be the Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Business Manager of the Roofer's Union, Local #221 in Hawaii. He retired in 2003.
After retiring, he involved himself with his family, being the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Although very successful in his career, he counted the births of all his children as being the most important events in his life. He enjoyed fishing, Karaoke, flying and Miller Lite. His favorite songs are "Snows of Mauna Kea', "Flying" and "Never, Never, Never". He is best described as being hardworking, strong, strict, responsible, successful and honest. He was first married to Virginia Tokioka and then to Judith Tokioka.
He is survived by sons, Robert Tokioka III, Reginald (Melanie) Tokioka and Derek Tokioka; daughters, Rowena (Lionel) Cazimero, Rochelle Okuma and Jacey-Ray Tokioka; twelve grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Tavares; sisters, Brenda (Hanalei) Velleses, Dawn Te`o and Pam Bista.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. Casual attire is suggested. Flowers are welcome.
