Ruth
Dear Steven and Jeffrey,
I was sad to read of the passing of your father. For years he has been walking down Namoku Street and occasionally I would be out in the yard and he would stop by to chat for a few minutes. After Lucy retired, they walked together in the mornings. After her passing, he continued his daily walks, a bit slower but it was part of his routine. In the last few years, I did not see him as often as I left home early in the morning to get in an early game of tennis.
My son, Wendell Chang, played in the Little League with Jeff. Your dad always inquired about Wendell and asked about what he was doing and inquired about his family. He was proud to talk about both Jeff and Steven and their achievements. He also shared memories of times spent with the grandchildren.
We spoke of trips taken to China, and he shared going with Vivian. Because I escorted tours to China, we often compared notes of places we had visited.
Please accept my sincere condolences. I will miss seeing him on his walk, but I am sure he will continue his walks in heaven with your mom.
