Roberto Valentin-Perez's Obituary
Roberto Valentin, born on January 15, 1956, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, entered into peaceful rest on January 27, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.
Roberto was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he grew up alongside his loving parents, the late Benita Perez and Monserrate Valentin, and his siblings Luz M. Soto, Fernando Valentin, Noemi Valentin Perez, Evelyn Aker, and Elsie Valentin. Each of them loves and misses him deeply. New Jersey remained a defining part of his life, shaping his identity, friendships, memories, and the joyful spirit that everyone knew him for.
A humble man who walked with God, Roberto carried the spirit of the lord wherever he went. Roberto treasured his family above all. He is survived by his children Stephanie Hagerman and her husband Justin, Jessica Valentin, and Enrique Valentin, who were the pride of his life. He shared a special closeness with each of them; their love, support, and presence meant everything to him.
He was also the most incredible grandfather anyone could ever ask for. Roberto adored his grandchildren—Lillianna Hagerman, Vanessa Hagerman, Sabrina Hagerman, Cassandra Macmillan, Chloe Macmillan, Caleb Valentin, and Avery Valentin—and loved each of them deeply and without limits. His legacy continues through his beloved great-grandchild, Harvin Macmillan.
