Rodolfo Pobre Dela Cruz's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Rodolfo Pobre Dela Cruz, also known as “Rudy”, was born on July 23, 1948 in Camiling, Tarlac, Philippines. His late parents were Mr. & Mrs. Robiastiano and Maxima Dela Cruz. Rudy was the 4th child and only son of six siblings. He came to Hawaii in July 1983. Rudy held multiple jobs and retired in December 2022 as a Groundskeeper for the State of Hawaii with the Department of Land and Natural Resources. Rudy was also a proud member of the Mayantoc Association of Hawaii.
Rudy was hardworking, caring, funny, generous and always had a heart of hospitality for his family and friends and everyone around him. His favorite pastimes were gardening, cooking, playing cards, watching television; TFC channel or Wheel of Fortune game show and sightseeing around the island. He was a jack of all trades, fixing up things around the house or for others. He loved traveling back home to the Philippines and Las Vegas with his Wife for vacation and most of all spending quality time with his family and great-grandchildren.
Rodolfo Pobre Dela Cruz, 75, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Queens Medical Center. Rodolfo was predeceased by his son, Rodel Dela Cruz; Survived by his beloved wife, Rosy Dela Cruz; his daughters, Julie Dela Cruz, Maylene (Daniel) Pascual; six grandchildren, Samantha Lorenzo, Arxie Lorenzo, Zhaslyn Joy Tumaneng, Rhobin Joy Tumaneng, Alvin James Apuya, and Tyler Jacob Apuyaas well as four great-grandchildren, Damon Royce Tumaneng, Raymond Jamal Tumaneng, Tory Jade Tumaneng, and Nevaeh Rose Tumaneng.
Funeral service for Rodolfo will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Valley of the Temples Main Chapel with burial to follow at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
