Celebrating the Life of Rodrigo Alcantara Ellazar, born October 16, 1939 in Brgy. Dan-ar, Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines; where he lived until he came to Hawaii in 1978. He was the 7th out of 9 children. After graduation he became a farmer. He was married to Maxima Tabita Cabbab. He passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a retired Europa Bakery baker. Some of his favorite hobbies were cockfighting, playing cards, gardening, and watching boxing. He is survived by wife, Maxima Cabbab Ellazar; sons, Robert (Miriam), Mendrado, Crisanto, Herman (Christie), Vicente (Hilda) and Hipolito (Ivy) Ellazar; daughters, Virginia (Noel) Nazareno and Emelie (Glen) Soriano; brothers, Perigrino, Ponciano, and Marciano Ellazar; sister, Cecila Medrano; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m.; prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation 9:30-10:15 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; Mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow 12 noon at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
