Romula Matias Duldulao, 87, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Romula was born on July 23, 1938, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to Enrique and Marina Matias. At a young age, she moved to Hawaii, where she built a life marked by perseverance, resilience, and dedication. Throughout the years, she worked in a variety of occupations, embracing each opportunity with a strong work ethic and determination before eventually enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Family was the center of Romula’s life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion touched all who knew her. She took great pride in her family and cherished the time spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Romula is survived by her children, Marlyn Hutton, Ruben Duldulao, and Melanie Vazquez; her six siblings; and her five beloved grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and dedication that will continue to inspire her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Romula’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the enduring bonds of family.
