My strongest memory of Mr. Gould took place on the football field. As a sophomore I tried out for the intermediate football team and became the first female line(wo)man. People’s criticism throughout the season would get pretty difficult for me but what I remember most is Mr. Gould being there with a hand on my shoulder. He encouraged me, coached me, and best of all, treated me no different than he did the boys. He helped instill an inner strength and confidence that carries me throughout life and through tough situations still to this day. I’m sure I am just one of many who’s character was made better by their time with Mr. Gould. Rest now Mr. G and know you have so many carrying on the values that you’ve instilled in us. ❤️
