Roy Masao Yasuda Jr.'s Obituary
Roy Masao Yasuda Jr., loving husband, father, grandpa, papa, brother, uncle & friend, went home to be with Jesus on December 2, 2017. He passed peacefully at Aloha Nursing & Rehab Centre in Kaneohe, Hawaii at the age of 82. Roy was born to the late Masami “Roy” Yasuda & Ethel Matsue Honda on July 24, 1935. He was the 2nd youngest of 3 children. Richard M, Yasuda ( Deceased ) and Frances Aiko Yu ( Yasuda )
Roy served in the United States Army, & Air National Guard with Honorable Discharge and was very proud to be a veteran. He continued his service for his country as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) at Hickam AFB Honolulu, Hawaii. He worked there for 33 years of service & retired as a Branch Chief Supervisor.
Roy was a humble & wise man who always had time to answer a question or give advice and encouragement to everyone around him. He loved spending time with his family. His favorite past times were basketball, volleyball, golf etc. His hobbies were nursing & gardening. Dad was a big fan of UH Volleyball Team. He loved watching Hawaii high school football especially his Alma Mater “McKinley High School” & loved supporting his granddaughter & other grand kids at their sporting events with his wife. Roy’s most recent trip was to Las Vegas.
To honor Roy & remember his love are his wife Mary of 31 years; his daughter: Lori Ann Keiko Brault & Truman “Fuzzy” Brault (Son-In-Law) with their children Lisa Black & Sami Brault; his son: Keith Alan K. “Captain" Yasuda & Zeny B. Yasuda (Daughter In Law), with their child, Kylie Yasuda; his step-son: Daniel Ross & children Braydan & Kadence Ross; & his step-daughter: Christy Ross. Roy's siblings include: sister Frances Aiko Yu (Yasuda) & James Yu (Brother-In-Law); His brother Richard M Yasuda (Deceased) & Gayle H Yasuda (Sister-In-Law) & many cousins, nieces & nephews.
Services honoring him and remembering his life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
