Sally Kimiko Murata's Obituary
Sally K. Murata passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017 at the age of 75.
Born on January 4, 1942 to Masaichi & Mitsue Kaneshiro in Honolulu, Hawaii, Sally was the eldest of 5 children, Jeanne, Karen, Steven, & David. She graduated high-school from Hawaii Baptist Academy and retired from Hickam AFB after 12 years of service as a Secretary. She also worked as a secretary to Doug Kam Young’s State Farm Insurance office and prior to entering the work force, she baby sat many children throughout the years.
Sally is survived by her 3 children: Lori (Dan) Funakoshi, Wendy Uesato & Bryce Murata; and 7 Grandchildren: Leighan & Dylan Funakoshi; Luke Uesato; Zachary, Dominick, Brennan & Kaipo Murata.
Sally will always be remembered as a kind and thoughtful person. She enjoyed reading mystery & suspense novels, watching Korean dramas, CSI, & NCIS, and playing crossword or word-search puzzles. Anything shiny and pretty caught her attention. She enjoyed spending time with family and enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. Sally will be missed as a mother, grandmother, & aunt. May she rest in eternal love & peace.
Private services will be held February 2, 2018 at Valley of the Temple where she will be laid to rest with her husband Earl.
