Samuel Dau Ming Ching's Obituary
Samuel Dau Ming Ching, 82, of Honolulu, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Straub Clinic and Hospital.
He was the youngest of three children born to Lin Sing Ching and Chew Fong Tom in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 14, 1934. Samuel was a retired pharmaceutical sales representative with Hoechst Marion Roussel.
Samuel attended Roosevelt High School, graduating in 1952. After high school he furthered his education at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree.
After graduation he began his career, first as a jeweler in the family business, Lambert & Sons; and then as a pharmaceutical sales representative with the Richardson-Merrell Company, which became Hoechst Marion Roussel by the time he retired.
Samuel was married to Victoria Chun on June 11, 1955 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Samuel enjoyed photography, traveling, food and food photography, tennis, and helping other seniors with computers at Honolulu Community College’s Senior Net.
Samuel is survived by his son, Stanley Ching and daughter, Catherine Ching.
