Samuelu Pagota Taputu's Obituary
Samuelu Pagota Taputu, 70, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016. He was born to Pagota So‘iaimoa Taputu and Ltonu‘u Utu in Tula, American Samoa on November 4, 1945.
Samuelu was a fish cannery supervisor for Samoa Packing.
He is survived by wife, Sarai Talo Taputu; sons, Pagota (Margie) Taputu and Fa‘amati (Barbara) Taputu; daughters, Sailini (Lautoa) Atisano‘e, Leiofu Taputu, Eni Taputu and Sarai Taputu-Greene (Jonah Greene); hanai sons, Faleata (Kathy) Mika and Fa‘aolataga (Timaima) Taputu; hanai daughter, Luafua (Peni) Ioane; brother, Fa‘aolataga Faatautau Salanoa and Ta‘aguli Taputu; sisters, Leiofu Taputu, Elizabeth Pagota, Faaoge Auvae and Lotonuu Boyd; 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Sialavai Tofi, Sailini McDonald, Mataala Asiata and Viileeu Teofilo; brothers, Fatu Taputu and Isaako Taputu.
Celebration of Life and funeral service for Samuelu will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary (located at 45-425 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744); visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., service to begin at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow 1:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
