Sang T. Bobay's Obituary
Our beautiful mother and grandmother, Sang Tea “Sandy” Bobay, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021.
Born in Korea on March 30, 1930. she left Korea in 1960 and thereafter traveled the US mainland extensively. In the late 1960s, she lived in Japan where she brought beauty into the world with her talent as a floral designer, receiving her Certificate from the Kofu School of Ikebana in Yokohama, Japan. In 1971, she arrived in Hawaii and initially settled her family in Kailua.
She spoke three languages; since English was her third language, she had to work very hard and study many long hours to acquire her Real Estate license. She was a natural salesperson and had a very successful career in Real Estate sales and investments, eventually having her own Brokerage.
In her later years, she resided in Honolulu. She maintained an active lifestyle and loved going to the beach, swimming, playing tennis, and walking. She also very much enjoyed dining out in her favorite restaurants.
She was a force of nature; a strong, gutsy woman who always spoke her mind and brought passion into everything she did. We will miss her incredible, energetic spirit.
She is survived by her two daughters, Clara and Caren, and grandson Robby.
