Setsuko Tamura Teramoto, aged 97, passed away peacefully in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born in Kohala, Hawaii, she spent her life serving the community and nurturing the minds of young learners.
Setsuko was a beacon of knowledge and wisdom, having dedicated her career to the noble profession of librarianship. She retired from Kalihi-Waena Elementary School, where she left an indelible mark on countless students with her passion for literature and learning.
She is survived by her loving child, Bruce (Rae) Teramoto, and her two cherished grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in them, and in the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
Setsuko’s life was a testament to the power of education, the importance of community, and the enduring strength of family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
