Shinyei Yonashiro's Obituary
Shinyei Yonashiro, 94 of Kaneohe, Hawaii has passed away peacefully at his residence in Kaneohe on February 27, 2018. At the time of his passing, he was cared for by the friendly nurses of Bristols Hospice.
Shinyei was born in Kahaluu, Hawaii to his mother, Uto Nakama and father, Seisuke Yonashiro on June 26, 1923. He was raised in Kahaluu, Hawaii and at the age of twenty two, he served our country of the United States of America and enrolled with the United States Army. He served from 22 June 1946 and was honorably discharged on 23 May 1949.
After being honorably discharged, he married the love of his life, Kazuko Yonashiro. He devoted his time to his wife and cared for her by providing all their needs. He did this for many years as he worked as a Carpenter and later retired with the Carpenters Union. Shinyei and Kazuko never had children, however, they had many nieces and nephews. His neighbors, co workers and friends came to be a part of his family.
A memorial service and inurnment for Shinyei will be held at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery (45-349 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744) at 11:00 a.m. The United States Army will be rendering Military Honors.
