Soledad "Choleng" Del Barrio Caranto's Obituary
Soledad “Choleng” Del Barrio Caranto, 76, of Kapolei, Hawaii passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Queen’s Medical Center – West. She was born on November 13, 1939 to Valeriano Del Barrio and Engracia Mojica in Calumpang Lejos, Indang, Cavite, Philippines. She was a retired seamstress with the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange.
Soledad was a loving, kindhearted, humble, giving, selfless person who loved her family, friends and God. She touched the lives of all who came in and out of her life and will truly be missed.
Soledad is survived by husband, Anselmo Caranto; sons, Ansel (Gloria) Caranto and Abner (Rowena Lasandra) Caranto; daughters, Sheila (Grelyn) Rosario, Sherry (Sean Schmidt) Caranto, and Shirley (Edgar Jr.) Parel; brothers, Epimaco (Marcelina) Del Barrio, Antonio (Victoria) Del Barrio, and Rodalito (Norma) Del Barrio; sisters, Raymunda (Segundo) Guyagon and Emelina (Jun) Duritan; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel;
Wake Service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional service Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Kapolei; visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Mass to begin at 1:00 p.m.
