I first met Stuart as my classmate at Saint Louis University medical school. I still remember vividly his nice smile and welcoming spirit. He and other classmates invited me to their home for our first thanksgiving. I just learned the bad news from our class reunion mail. My deepest and sincere condolences to Stuart's family. My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Stuart Wakatsuki. He was an very kind and sincere physician for my ankle surgery. He helped me relieve some of the great discomfort I had while walking and I was so glad to have him do the surgery in the best way possible. While I am grateful for his help as a physician, more importantly, I am honored to have known him as a friend. I will always miss you Dr Stuart. Wakatsuki.

My sincerest sympathies go out to the Wakatsuki family. I first met Stuart in 1997, while I was doing my Sports Medicine Fellowship, and he was doing his Foot & Ankle Fellowship right upstairs. We became fast friends, and enjoyed a great year working alongside each other. I traveled to Hawaii for his wedding to Myssi, and years later, he came to Texas along with his wife and 2 young boys for mine. I will always cherish our friendship, Stuart, and will miss you dearly.

I was so blessed to have him as my orthopaedist last year when I broke my leg. He was a kind, gentle and patient man and always greeted me with a smile on his face. I greatly admired him for his attention to his patients while undergoing treatment for his illness. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

My sincere condolences to the Wakatsuki family. It was such an honor to have worked with Dr. Wakatsuki for many years as his Ortho Clinic nurse at the Hawaii State Hospital. He was such a kind and patient man who treated our patients well. Dr. Wakatsuki was so dedicated to his job........even when he was not feeling well, he showed up to work to take care of his patients. The MSU department, patients, and myself appreciated all his years of service. He was a good man and will truly be missed.

So very sorry to hear of your loss.
Dr. Wakatsuki was my doctor thru a knee surgery and his easy going manner put me at ease. He was gentle and kind man, and always took the time to explain and answer all my questions...not something all Drs. do. He seemed to be a gentle sole, and although my contact with him was limited, I can only imagine how challenging his illness and death is for your family...He was very good at what he did and I am so happy to have known him.
