On Sunday, April 21, 2024, Syra Maria (Marin) Bauer, born October 28, 1954, left us on Earth and ascended to her Heavenly family in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her presence was a cherished part of our lives for sixty-nine years, a time that, despite its length, was still too short for all her friends and family whom she deeply touched. We will never forget her infectious laughter during family gatherings and warm hugs that made us feel loved and safe. Syra was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
She grew up in San Francisco, CA, and Daly City, CA, in a home filled with love and laughter with her parents, older sister, and younger brothers. The presence of extended family nearby enriched her childhood, fostering a sense of belonging and love. In middle school, she forged a bond with her two best friends that transcended distance, a testament to the enduring power of friendship.
Syra graduated early from high school, married right after high school, and had three children with her ex-husband, Alan. She is survived by Audra (49), Jason (48), his wife Bridgette and their children Teia and Phoenix, and her youngest son Adam (43), his wife Sylvia, his stepson Giovanni and his grandson Romeo, and his youngest stepson Eli.
