Teresita Longboy Ruiz's Obituary
Teresita Longboy Ruiz passed away on July 9, 2019 at Queen’s Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on May 18, 1940 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Her parents were Wenceslao and Generosa (Balitayo) Longboy. She was the second of three siblings. As a young lady, she spent time working in Manila before marrying Ricardo Ruiz in 1965. They settled in Honolulu and raised their family before moving to Waipahu in 1989. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Malia Uniform Company. She retired early and enjoyed parties, shopping, cooking, and talking with friends and relatives. She liked to watch Filipino television shows and listen to Filipino music on her phone. She was a loving parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent who was proud of her family and looked forward to holidays and birthdays when the whole family would gather and celebrate together. She had a sense of humor and had a laid-back attitude toward life, even in difficult times. She was preceded in death by her husband Ricardo in 2004, and is survived by two siblings, Carlina Silaran and Geronimo (Corazon) Longboy, three sons, Jerry (Patricia), Darrell and Rhowell, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 10:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. at Valley of the Temples Mortuary Chapel; Service: 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Luncheon will be from 1:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Mortuary Chapel Lanai.
