Born in Makawao, Maui, he is survived by wife, Lucy Lanias; daughter, Ellen Ngun; son, Clifford Lanias; brother, Antonio Lanias; sister, Vicky Andrade; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
