Thalia B. Word, 93, of Kailua, a retired Kailua High School Secretary, passed away in Kaneohe. Born in Rochester, New York. She is survived by sons, Kenneth and Ross; daughters, Leslie Bateman and Sydney Beckett; pre-deceased by husband of 43 years LtCol. William E. Word, USMC (Ret.) and son Chief Petty Officer John (Jonelle) Word, USN (Ret.) 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held 12noon-1:00p.m., Thursday July 17, 2014 at Windward United Church of Christ; with services at 1:00p.m.; reception to follow.
