Thelma Black, a beloved hula dancer, passed away peacefully at her home in Pearl City, Hawaii, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Thelma dedicated her life to the art of hula, sharing its beauty and grace with countless others.
Thelma is survived by her siblings: Archie, Fred Jr., Tom, Cynthia, and Barbara, as well as her devoted children: Kimo (Janette), Gordon (Debbie), Kale (Elizabeth), John (Christine), Juliet (John), Penny, Ann (Robert), Patrick, and Kelly. Her legacy extends to her 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her love for dance and her zest for life.
Thelma’s passion for hula was infectious. She graced stages across the islands, captivating audiences with her fluid movements and radiant smile. Her commitment to preserving Hawaiian culture through dance touched the hearts of many.
