Thomas Earl Arnold Sr. 's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Thomas Earl Arnold, Sr., who passed away in Wahiawa on January 20, 2014. He was born on June 3, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Julia Colburn and Charles Neal Arnold. Thomas was the youngest of 13 children. He attended Roosevelt High School. Upon graduation he began his career in the Signal Corps of the United States Army during the Korean War, followed by a 35 year career in the Office Products Division of IBM; he retired in 1987. He lived in Kailua, Hawaii for many years and then Mililani after retirement.
He married his best friend, Loretta Keakealani Hoapilli, and enjoyed being with her and sharing their important life events together 'til the "end."
Thomas was family focused, extremely conservative, humble and private man whose favorite past times included competing in seven Great Aloha Runs as a Senior. He enjoyed listening to the song, "Smile."
He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta “Peep” Arnold; daughters, Jann Arnold Crawford (Scott), Debbie Arnold Staton (Kent) and Lesly Arnold Grunow (Carl); son, Tommy Arnold, Jr.; grandchildren, Lauren (Matt) Perry, Evan, Daniel and Taylor Crawford, Lindsy (Paul) Dufore, and Niki Grunow; great-grandson, Jude Perry; and sister, Yvonne Ernst.
His memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Punahou School's Thurston Memorial Chapel with visitation to begin at 5:00 p.m. and memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
