I met Tiona Harbottle at Graceland College (now a university) when I was a sophomore and she was a freshman. We were club sisters in the tdf beta club. All of my memories of Tiona make me smile. I am grateful that we were able to maintain our friendship through phone calls and the U. S. mail service. We shared the desire to be together in person in Hawaii. I regret that we were unable to make desire into reality. I feel the loss of a special friend. My love and prayers for comfort to all of Tiona's family for their loss.

We moved away from Hawaii when I was just 5. I always missed being part of the big families that my mom and dad had. Aunty Tiona was so kind and thoughtful. She always made sure that even though we weren't present, we weren't forgotten. When we came home to visit, she celebrated us. When she prepared special gifts for nieces/nephews, she made sure we were included. That has been deeply meaningful to me. It guides me in making decisions on how to love and celebrate the nieces and nephews God has blessed me with. I am deeply sorry for everyone's loss, but I celebrate her freedom and the joy of her eternity with her Savior.
