Working with you for several years I found not only a boss & mentor, but a friend and a brother. You were my advisor when needed, friend when most needed, and a brother all the time. You always watched out for me and helped learn and grow. My bond with you, (not only as boss/employee, or mentor/mentee) grew quickly, and soon seemed like it had been there forever. Whether in our work responsibilities or extracurricular activities (BYUH Volleyball and Basketball games, seminary visits, rallies, and many more) nothing was a chore; every opportunity to spend time together was a pleasure. You didn’t only include me in things at work, but in your family fun; making me feel like “hanai”.
Though cliché, I often thought of the phrase, “Behind every good man…”, and that was confirmed when I met Leilani. What a choice companion you have. I pray for her any chance I get, that she will find comfort & peace, that the wonderful memories from your life together will tide her over until your reunion - A reunion made possible by our selfless Savior and by our Heavenly Father’s divine plan. I pray the same for all your wonderful children and grandchildren.
It warms my heart to think of you not only as friend, but as Ohana. Aloha Oe!
