Vernon Ronald Taylor's Obituary
Vernon Ronald TAYLOR, 84, Passed away on July 8, 2020 at The
Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. A Nanakuli resident his entire
life, Vernon attended Nanaikapono Elementary, Kamehameha High and
graduated from Waipahu High, Class of 1955. Vernon joined the United
States Army shortly after high school and was stationed in Berlin, Germany.
He served his country for 3 years and played football for the Berlin Bears.
After his deployment, Vernon returned home and joined the Honolulu Fire
Department. After 33 years of service to his community, Vernon retired in
1993 with the rank of Captain at the Nanakuli Fire Station, Engine 28.
Vernon is survived by his wife 65 years, Pearl Taylor. Children, Vernon
“Joe” Taylor Jr. (Louise “Sugar” Taylor, deceased); Jacqueline Taylor-Lee
(Steve); Michael Taylor (Michelle). 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on August 3, 2021, 10:30 am at The Valley of the
Temples Memorial Park and Cemetery, Trousdale Chapel.
