Victoria H. Castillo's Obituary
Victoria "Vicky" Hernandez Castillo passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 19, 2023. A long time resident of Kailua, Oahu in Hawaii, she was a patient at The Finest Care Adult Family Home in Vancouver, Washington. Victoria was a beloved wife, mother of four, grandmother of five and great-grandmother to six children. She will be forever loved and missed by her ohana/family.
Victoria was born in Masantol, Pampanga in the Philippines on November 17, 1930. A daughter of Dorothea and Marciano Hernandez, she grew up with nine other brothers and sisters. She married Eddy S. Castillo (now deceased) on March 13, 1949. As a wife of a U.S. Army service member who later became the first Filipino-American to be a U.S. Deputy Federal Marshal, Victoria would live in Japan, the East and West coasts of the U.S. and in Germany. She would also travel extensively to other countries including England, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Australia and South Korea.
Victoria is survived by her children, Virginia "Ginine" H. Castillo, Manuel E. Castillo, Helen "Len" C. Sundita, and Diana C. Tolentino (Albert). Her grandchildren Shannon Cherisse Sundita, Sean Paul Sundita, Elyse Chantel Sundita, Chelsea-Andrea Crowell and Grant Tolentino, and her great- grandchildren Tayvin, Tait, Taj and Tarrus Crowell, and Kingston Riley and Hunter Kylo Sundita.
Services for Victoria will be held on October 18, 2023 at the Valley of the Temples beginning at
10 am.
Burial will take place on October 18, 2023 at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Oahu in Hawaii.
