Victorina Lorenzo Barut Olipares' Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Victorina Lorenzo Barut Olipares, born on September 7, 1928 in Bacarra Ilocos, Norte, Philippines; where she lived until 1955. Her parents were Escolastica Castillo and Ciriaco Barut. She was the 4th child of eight children. She attended St. Williams College in Laoag. She earned her Elementary Teaching Certificate; after graduation she began a career as an Elementary School Teacher in the Philippines. She was also a housekeeper for the Outrigger Waikiki & Holiday Inn. She retired in 1990 after serving 23 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and helping with her husband’s yard service business. She was married to Micolas Pascua Olipares on November 10, 1954 in Manila.
She was loving, caring, family oriented, organized, happy and full of laughter. One of her most important events in her life was the birth of her three children. She loved spending time with family, reading, loved animals, traveling and watching Korean Dramas and Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed listening to Filipino songs.
She is survived by her husband, Micolas Pascua Olipares; daughters, Violet O. (Eduardo) Dela Cruz and Harlean O. (Alan) Ogawa; son, Hubert B. (Nancy) Olipares; grandchildren, Alecsander Olipares, Micolas H. Ogawa and Tori Ann A. Ogawa; and brothers, Loreto, Filemon and Marcelino Barut.
Visitation to her evening wake service will be held from 5:30-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation to her funeral service will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m., with burial service to follow 1:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
