Wilford Randolph Ahue's Obituary
Wilford Randolph Ahue, 84, of Waimanalo, Hawaii passed away on October 25, 2016. Wilford was the first of two children born to Lilinoe Kealohamakua (Needham) and Joseph AhShow Ahue in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 28, 1932.
Wilford attended the Kamehameha Schools upon graduating from high school he went on to further his education at the University of Hawaii and Manoa where he received two certificates in Criminology in 1962.
After graduation he was employed by Bishop Estate as a rod man then in 1954 he joined the Honolulu Police Department and became a detective.
After 28 years of dedicated service with the Honolulu Police Department he retired in 1981.
Wilford was married to Fay Kaonohiokala Whittle on July 29, 1950 at Kawaiahao Church in Honolulu. They resided in Waimanalo on the east side of Oahu.
Wilford was active with the Elks 616, Shriners (Prorose Guard) and Independent Order of the ODD Fellows. He enjoyed playing Tennis and surfing. He also liked listening to Hawaiian and Oldies music – (ink spots).
The person who was truly special and influenced Wilford was his wife, Fay; she was a strong minded woman who took care of a strong minded man).
Important events for Wilford was his marriage to Fay, working for HPD and raising his family.
He has been coined in saying – “One more for the road”
He is survived by his son, Kent (Randy) Ahue; daughter-in-law, Linda Ahue; brother, Joseph AhShow Ahue, Jr.
Service for Wilford will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.; service to begin at 11:30 a.m. burial to follow 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
