William Wesley Phillips' Obituary
William Wesley Phillips, age 76, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away December 9, 2017 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Hilo, Hawaii on October 1, 1941 to parents Frank M. Phillips and Annie Paalani Phillips, he was a retired mechanic for Greyhound Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hattie Eldredge Phillips.
Survived by seven children, Wesley (Kanani) Phillips, Darlani “Sweetie” (Hartford) Wright, Robey (Gina) Phillips, Kevin (Ricol) Phillips, Kaleo (Guy) Kamealoha, Leilehua (Donny) Utu and Lauli’a (Kale) Ah Wong; siblings, Ann Marie (Alfred, Sr.) Samante, Eleanor (Thomas) Kalama, Kenneth Phillips; grandchildren, Kesley, La’akea and Ka’imipono Phillips, Clifford (Taschia) Wright, Ashford (Jennifer) Wright, Hartford Wright, Jr., Tiani Bento, Taneil Bento, Robey Phillips, Jr., Tiare Phillips, Chandell Phillips, Sheila (Chris) Reyes, Laule’a, Kilinahe and Kamahele Phillips, Darin and Kori-Ann Kamealoha, D.J., Donte & Leicey Utu, Kamakaokaleilehua and Keolaokalani Ah Wong; great-grandchildren, Makana and Ikaika Wright, Moki and Kauahipaula Wright, Jakey and Jojo Reyes, Mia “Pretty Girl” Bento, Isaiah and Riley Reyes.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2017, at Punahou School’s Thurston Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Lei are welcome.
