William Edward Washington's Obituary
At the age of 72, William “Bill” Washington, of Honolulu, HI, unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2024.
Beloved father of Aurora Evelyn Washington; son of the late Walter Washington, Sr., and the late Zipporah Holt Washington; brother of Wayne David Washington, the late Walter Washington, Jr., the late Warren (Doug) Washington and the late Wendall (Corey) Washington.
Bill was a devoted father, God-father, and friend. He was a scholar, inventor, entrepreneur, partner and business owner. He patented, produced and marketed, world- wide, a hydraulic non-computerized pressure valve for tractor trailers.
He spent his early childhood in New Homestead, PA, with his maternal grandparents, Marguerite and “Grandpa” Harris. In primary school he moved to Paterson, NJ where he graduated from East Side High School in 1970.
Bill was an avid student of science fiction and graphic novels. He was an accomplished dancer and participated in stage productions in high school as well as at William Paterson College, Wayne, New Jersey, where he graduated with a B.A. in Communications in 1974.
A private viewing was held December 11, 2024, at the Valley of Temples Memorial Park prior to cremation.
For all his accomplishments, Bill was most proud of his daughter Aurora (age 16), who is an honor student in the International Baccalaureate Program at the Henry J. Kaiser High School in Honolulu.
