Zacharias C Valdez Jr's Obituary
Honoring Zacarias C Valdez Jr
October 16th, 1952 - April 20th, 2026
Family meals felt like celebrations whenever Dad lifted a wooden spoon, and that simple joy captures who Zacarias C Valdez Jr was to us. His kitchen was the place where stories, laughter, and the best food we knew came together.
Born in Navacan Ilocos-Sur, Philippines, he learned early that good work and good food bring people close. Years later, Waipahu became his home and, finally, the place where he said goodbye.
Cooking was more than a job for him; it was the heart of his day. He carried the proud title of a hardworking chef, and every dish showed the patient care he poured into it.
Those of us who loved him saw the same care in small acts off the stove. He was patient, generous, compassionate, and never shied from hard work, qualities we felt in every steady word and helpful hand.
His greatest pride was being Dad to Christine Paz, Randy Valdez, and Lori Fernandez Marquez. Each of us carries a favorite recipe and a quiet lesson in kindness that came straight from him.
On April 20th, 2026, he slipped away in Waipahu, leaving a house that still smells of garlic and fresh bread. We will keep his pots warm, share his dishes, and think of him with every satisfied smile around the table.
