Anne and I were swimming friends 32 years ago (1980) when our family lived in Kailua for 15 months. We would take it in turns to swim and mind the then three children: Milika'a and my two sons, Rob and Tim. We became close friends.We met again 4 years later when my husband, Ted returned to Hawaii to graduate from his Doctoral program. Liz was part of the family by then. Over the years we shared several visits as our sons went to Hawaii to surf and enjoyed great hospitality from Anne, Milika'a and families.Our last meeting was in February, 2010 the two families gathered with three generations. It was lovely to see our children as lovely young parents as Anne and i were when we first met.Love to all Anne's family. Annie was one of those once in a lifetime friends who just seemed to always be there for you and make you seem so special and loved. She would be there 24/7 and was always a light in the storm. We became friends while both working in the same field....death.Her humor was a bit different, as was mine, but we used it to deal with our "emotional side" of the business and shared such a very close bond. She was my sister of the heart and was so dearly loved and admired. If anyone could pull it off in an awkward situation, it was Anne. She should have won some sort of award for some of her acts:) I loved her spirit, her energy, her creativity, her humor, her warmth, her beauty, and her intelligence. She was charming and elegant when the situation called for it....but the rascal side of her was always lurking, and many times we laughed so hard we cried. Annie will be so missed as she was taken too soon. My sincere condolences to her beautiful family. Her heart will always remain alive through memories shared. My pal Anne, was truly a wonderful person dating back greater than 50 plus years while at Punahou School. We had a lot in common during our high school days and had "good fun". I loved Anne's cute personality as well as her charm. Her smile was contageous to say the least!I was a Lanikai gal while going to Punahou.I will greatly miss Anne and her sweet, bubbly smile and sincere goodness. So very sorry for the family. We have all lost a remarkable, sweet, giving and loving soul. She will live on in all of our hearts! I am so happy I got to spend a wonderful evening with her and getting to know her better at a small get-together of classmates at my sister's home in Kaneohe when she was still well. I shall miss Ann - we saw each other so infrequently in our later years, but when those occasions came, there was great joy in talking to each other. And it always seemed that no time had passed but the conversation just continued where it left off.I will be at her memorial service - this was the last place I saw Ann and the last public place my husband would go before his death.
