David Kamaka Keanu's Obituary
David Kamaka Keanu, 85 of Waipahu, passed away on March 24, 2023. David Kamaka Keanu, better known as “Babe” was born on April 22, 1937 to Agnes Kapeka Keanu and David Kalawai’a Keanu. David was the third oldest in a family of ten and at the age of 10 he started to drive trucks and trailers for his father’s house moving business. At 16 he worked for Frank Fasi as a foreman moving houses. He worked for several well known companies moving houses as this provided a solid foundation for him to build his House Moving business at the age of 20. Later he moved to Almonte California and married Pamela English of Culver City California. Together they had three girls Georgene, Caroline, and Linalee and made Hawaii their home after Georgene was born.
David is survived by his Children: Georgene Berinobis, Caroline Corkett, Linalee Keanu Lua; Siblings: Yorletta Poaha, Caroline Kaina, Yolanda Rose, Homer Keanu, Glenwell Keanu, Bryan Keanu, Danford Keanu. Grandchildren: 11; Great Grandchildren: 4; Preceded in death by wife Pamela and siblings: Theodore Sylva and Kalford Keanu.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on May 20, 2023 at Lincoln Elementary School, visitation at 9:30 a.m., Services start at 10:30 a.m.
