Donald Ray Blanton's Obituary
It is with great sadness to share the passing of Donald Ray Blanton.
On July 11, 2022, Donald Ray Blanton, loving husband and father of two children, chose to join his wife, Grace Dian Blanton, in heaven.
Donald was born on December 13th, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas. After living most of his childhood years in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he moved with his family to Gainesville, Texas for his high school years, eventually graduating from Gainesville High School. Upon graduation, Donald enlisted in the United States Navy. After his completion of duty in the navy, he enjoyed a successful career that greatly contributed to United States national security in the aerospace and defense industries. He dedicated his time and efforts as a member and leader of flight test teams for the B-2, F-22, and F-35 with companies such as Texas Instruments, Lockheed Martin, and Modern Technology Solutions Inc.
While living in California in 1987, Donald met the love of his life, Grace, and within a few months, both believed God had brought two broken souls together. They were married in 1988 and raised a son and daughter, Elijah Andrew and Charity Gabrielle.
Donald’s greatest joys in life were spending time with Grace on many beautiful and unforgettable adventures, being proud of his children and their accomplishments, and establishing his greatness on golf courses and bowling lanes.
Donald is preceded in his death by his wife Grace Blanton, mother Marilyn Dowling, stepfather Kingsley Dowling, father Bill Blanton, step-mother Antionette Blanton, brother Nick Blanton, brother Billy Blanton, brother James Blanton and nephew Ezekiel Blanton. He is survived by his son Elijah Blanton, daughter Charity Borg, sister Vikki Arneault, brother Rick Blanton, brother Michael Blanton, brother Kingsley Dowling II, brother Matthew Dowling and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8th, 2022, at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Ocean View Terrace, Kaneohe, Hawaii, at 10:00 o’clock am. Those unable to attend in person are invited to virtually attend the service.
The funeral will be followed by a celebration of life at his daughter's home on Monday, August 8th, 2022, at 3:00pm.
