TV Sitcoms would have you believe that the mere mention of a man's mother-in-law was the source of an instant and major husband and wife confrontation. But I ask you, how could such a lovely lady as Dorothy Yusi ever cause any such conflict? Speaking from first hand experience I can tell you she never could or would. She didn't have to put up with my perpetual Irish wise-guy quips, but she did and that made me a very lucky man. What a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and in recent years even a great-grandmother this lady was. We will miss her greatly, but I think we share a certain calm just knowing that Mom gave us all so much in those 94 years and that she will now be quietly looking down on us all...

But I ask you, how could such a lovely lady as Dorothy Yusi ever cause any such conflict? Speaking from first hand experience I can tell you she never could or would. She may have suffered fools lightly, but in my case she made a BIG Exception. That made me a VERY Lucky son-in-law of 43 years. What a WONDERFUL lady, wife, mother, grandmother and in recent years even a great grandmother this lady was. We will miss her greatly, but I think we share a certain calm just knowing that Mom gave us all so much in those 94 years and that she will now be quietly looking down on us all.....me too I hope.

I was blessed to be able to spend some time with your mother while visiting you at the Kaneohe house during our high school days. She was lots of fun and I looked forward to future visits.
