Douglas Hayes Dilliner's Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Hayes Dilliner, 76, of Kailua, Hawaii passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was the youngest of five children born to James Earsel Dilliner and Rebecca Holstein on April 20, 1939 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He attended Kahuku and McKinley High Schools.
He served in the United States Army, owned his own swimming pool company, was a sales associate with Ameron and Hawaii Pipe, and worked in kitchen and bath sales.
He lived and Haleiwa and Kailua, O‘ahu. He was married to Patricia Leialoha Allen Akiu on February 22, 1964 in Honolulu.
Doug was a member of Kailua Assembly of God. Doug was a devoted servant of the Lord and had an impact on all he came in contact with.
He loved sports, mainly football – Kahuku High School in particular. He had an amazing speaking and singing voice. He enjoyed listening to worship songs and music by the Brothers Cazimero.
The events that were important in his life were joining the United States Army, giving his life to Christ, getting married, having a large ‘Ohana, and raising his grandchildren. His special friends were Keith Faufata and Dr. Howard Keller. The words best to describe Doug and what he believed in were: Trust, Salvation, Ministry, Marriage and Family.
He is survived by wife, Patricia "Lei" Dilliner; sons, Edward (Sharon) Dilliner, Keith (Mapuana) Dilliner, and Douglas Dilliner; daughter, Kristal “Makanani" (Richard) Rivera; son-in-law, Miguel “Mike” Quintana; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Lovaina "Lovey" Kia; many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Quintana; brothers, Leonard Dilliner, Charles Dilliner, and James E. Dilliner.
Visitation to his Celebration of Life will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Kailua Assembly of God; service to begin at 10:00 a.m.
