My name is Christopher Ryan hopu I'm the youngest son of Hiram hopu I belive I was the last grandson tutu had not met I live in Canada about 2 years ago I was finally able to get to Hawaii and meet her and my dad for the first time on her 91st birthday meeting her was a life a changer for to be so full of life that most thirty year olds struggle to obtain was amazing to me her first hug was the hardest I've ever felt made me feel so welcome to a strange new place tutu I miss you very much in the short time I got to know you you touch my life in ways I never thought possible I love you tutu always and forever you grandson Chris
My name is Darcy and I had the pleasure of meeting TuTu a few years back when Kevin and I went to visit . She opened her home and her heart to this howlie white boy and I saw how generous and sincere she really was in that short time. We stayed with her for about 8 days.
I remember hearing a rustling outside the window about 6:30 every morning and got up to see what it was and it was TuTu raking the leaves on the grass.
Unbelievable what a zest for life she had it made me rethink how I treated each day after that.
I saw how family and friendship meant to her it was inspiring.
I will miss you and will leave you with these words
A hui hou
Aloha 'oe

To the family of Esther K. Hopu,
We are so sorry for your loss. Esther was an outstanding employee at Pan Am. She was the fastest, most akamai, very very clean, LOTS OF FUN, responsible and caring individual! WE LOVE HER!!

I have fond memories, of Esther working in her beautiful garden. Everyday when I went to work, there she was working in her garden. She has the most well kept beautiful
garden in our neighborhood. Oh how I admired (and still do) her garden. Then, when
I finally met her in 2002, I am so very blessed that she came into my life.(well, actually,
I went into Esthers' life). Her zest for life, her infectious laughter, made everyday I saw
her a happy day! I miss her terribly, my only consolation is that she's in heaven with
Leilani and her ancestors. Hauoli na la i na lani!
