A Gentle Soul Remembered: George Raymond Chong

George Raymond Chong, born on June 13, 1935, in Coleyville, Jamaica, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025 at Ilima at Leihano with Malama hospice care.
George’s life was filled with a love of travel, a passion for Broadway shows, the joy of cruising the open seas, a keen interest in genealogy, and the grace of ballroom dancing. His gentle spirit and kind gestures touched the lives of those around him and left a lasting impact on his family and friends.
He was a devoted father to his six children: Rodney (Vivien) Chong, Stacey Chou, Colin Chong, Laura (Mitch) Tasaki, Rhonda Chong, and Gregory (Julia) Chong. He is loved by his seven grandchildren, Samantha Chong, Christine, Amy Chou, Michelle, Marissa, Bryson Tasaki, and Natalie Chong; his sister, Fay (Joseph) Moore; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen M. Chong and his son-in-law, William Chou.
