Oh President Lung, thank you thank you thank you for your dedication and devotion in serving the Lord. I have often thought of you over the years since leaving Hawaii as some have thought of Lehi and the advice you might have shared when I fell to the wayside and off the path. You were one of my childhood heroes and I add my tears and condolences. In my heart I remember the testimony you bore of the Savior, not specifically what you said but what I felt. I remember your gentle voice and firm resolve, and I am gladdened that thinking of you resonates in my heart with those memories and the air is fragrant with Pikake.

Between the Irish and Tanaka Family we have known Glenn Lung for over 50 years. He dedicated his life to his family and the Lord's work. Truly admirable qualities! His various callings introduced him to numerous people impacting their lives for good. Our family was saddened about his loss. His legacy and example will live on in our hearts forever. No doubt he's preparing a heavenly mansion for his family...paving the way once again. From the Irish and Tanaka family to the Lung Family we send our sincere condolences.

I think it was in 1977 that we had an island wide area conference at the HIC. Spencer W Kimball was prophet at the time and was going to speak. My family and I were so excited to be there. As the Prophet entered the arena, we all sang "We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet." Brother Lung was up on the podium with the Prophet and I thought how lucky we were to be in the same ward as Brother Lung. He was always a source of information and he taught me early on that Joseph Smith was the most important man ever born, second only to Jesus Christ. Our family will miss him and the great example he set for us.

In my early years of marriage. I was able to move into the Kaimuki Ward. In this very Ward I had the privilege to be able to sit by brother Lung, listen to brother Lung, and share stories and testimonies with brother Lung. Through these experiences I came to the fact that this brethren was a man of God! My favorite thing to do was to observe people and for brother Lung, I wanted to observe and to learn from him. As years have passed by, and I've watched this brethren for sometimes inside our church buildings from afar. I notice that bro. Lung, had always cherished his beautiful, amazing and very humbled wife and than his children and their families and than those around him. Also, I've seen this man of God push through sickness and health problems for almost all sabbath days to just be in a sacred building we call a chapel to partake of the sacred emblems of the sacrament of which shows our sincere devotion to our God. Brother Lung didnt have to speak much to teach me. But through his actions bro. Lung has shown me love for God and than Family. He has shown me unwavering faith. Most important teaching he taught me through his actions, were to always love his wife. Almost everytime I got to observe this spiritual giant. He was always side by side with his beautiful wife. They are together everywhere. Through this experience I've humbled myself to love my wife even when she is right or wrong. Lol...
Brother Glenn Yoke Mun Lung is a man of God, truly a man large in stature, willing to give everything he has for the lord and his family. Thank you Bro. Lung for teaching me how to become a better husband. and for strengthening my faith in God. Until we meet again dear friend!
