ALOHA!
To THE LOVING FAMILY of Late GUILLERMO G. TABILE. I would like to give a my deep
warm SINCERE CONDOLENCE and SORROW with YOU ALL.
It was a shock and very sad DAY when I found out yesterday via the morning newspaper. Also knowing Gil from the days when we used to work together at PHSYD
and also a GOOD FRIEND and COMPARE who is always there when you need help/
ask some questions or problems and always find the right solutions.
I would like to share a little STORY about Gil since the time we met back in the during the Shipyard days after we became Journeyman. Gil was always A Leader and a dedicated worker, he always took charge of the many tasks we were assigned to. No
matter how complicated or how it seems to unsolveable>"a NO CAN SITUATIONS" Gil
always some how manage to come out with solution thus making the Tasks very smooth
and easy a "CAN SITUATIONS!"
Numerous times this was the picture at where we worked at CODE 386 TOOL ENGINEERING BRANCH under CODE 380 Production Engineering DIVISION. I was always working with Gil side by side for we were the first Shop in the Nation to create a
SPECIAL TOOLS/SPECIAL MACHINES SECTION. Shop 06 special machine section and
shop 38 also shop 11 special Tools merge on the second floor in the supply building
under Tool Design Section Under our BOSS John Wilger.
Gil was there before me due to he was already a Journeyman I was finishing up my Last year of Apprentice and couple of after that we all had a temp. position of Special Tools/
Machine Mechanics, just couple of us, SIX to be exact. After Building the SHOP we
worked many long hours trying to comlete the Shop and also supporting the waterfront needs, we finally made it in less than 2 years. Soon after that with the help of our devoted/caring office support especially Mr. Higa>Mechanical Engineering Technician
who worked on or job description/class we became WG-11 TOOL-Maker under Code
380 Production Engineering Division. We were the ELITE SHOP of the TOOL-
ENGINEERING SECTION. WE WERE "NO KA OI" SECTION among the Nations Shipyards. We were all dedicated and devoted to our MOTTO> WE CAN ATTITUDE!
Due to all the Professional and hard working Personal in our section whether they were just on training or been there for years Like Gil and many hard working professional.
We always supported the "NEEDS" of the Shipyard both on board Surfacecrafts and on board Nuclear Submarines also the different Craft Trades in our "NA KA OI" Shipyard.
With Gil's Background on board ships/hydraulic systems and also an Aeronautical
Engineer Background nothing was too difficult to design a blueprint to manufacture a special tools or a very complicated special machine but due to Gil'sfor the Shipyard. Our TASKS was Challenging at times but Gil somehow always was instrumental in making OUR TASKS VERY SMOOTH and seems so SIMPLE.
Gil was always a Positive Craftsman and ALSO a POSITIVE kind of a FRIEND! Always trying to make the negative situation a "POSITIVE ONE!" For this I COMMEND Him as being a "TRUE" Friend FOREVER! I will miss Gil with all his LAUGH and all his SMILES
most especially all the Years we Spent together as LIKE BROTHERS!
ALOHA! MY FRIEND! and my DEEPEST SORROW TO THE TABILE OHANA!
SINCERELY>JIMMY F> LONZANIDA
