Jeffrey Akin Olson's Obituary
Jeffrey Akin Olson, age 51 of Wai’anae, O’ahu (Makaha), passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. After suffering an AAA, (Acute Aortic Dissection). He was born On September 02, 1972, in Seattle, Washington. When he was four years old and his sister, Jeanne, was three. They were adopted by a loving couple named Eugene and Marilyn Olson, that became known as “Mom & Dad”. His parents’ favorite memory is of the day Jeff came to live with them in his forever home. Their hearts were filled with so much joy for that little rosy cheeked boy and his little sister, Jeanne. Jeff loved the outdoors; it was his favorite place to be. After high school, he worked land scaping and then made a great career as a welder. He continued in that same line of work after moving to the Island of O’ahu. New Years Day, January 01, 2001. Jeff married the love of his life, Mary. Together a quarter of a century and 23 of those years they were married. Jeff and Mary started their lives together in Port Orchard, Washington for the first decade. Then they said, “Let’s move to Hawai’i”. It has always been his dream to live where there is warm weather and beautiful beaches. And he was determined to make their dreams come true. So, Jeff and Mary sold most of their belongings and used that money to head to the Island of O’ahu. They settled in Wai’anae, (Makaha) west side of the Island. Jeff would tell you the story of how Mary forced them to live in Wai’anae. After living there for a while, Mary wanted them to move to Honolulu, and Jeff wasn’t having it. He loved his little piece of paradise there on the Makaha side. Loved the culture, the family in that community and he wasn’t leaving it! So they stayed where Jeff had the feeling of Ohana “Family”. Jeff worked at PacMar Technologies LLC in Honolulu. He enjoyed the time that he spent working for this company. Everyday when Jeff got home from work, you would see him on the beach walking Bella. You could catch Jeff and Mary with drinks in hand enjoying the waves, spending time talking with their friends every night and their famous impromptu BBQ’s. And that right there was one of Jeff’s happiest places to be. Jeff had a contagious smile and laugh and a peaceful soul that just drew you towards him and made you feel better about whatever was bothering you. He was great at living in the moment, enjoying the people and places around him and helping others whenever he could. “The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” -Robert Byrne Jeff is survived by his parents, Eugene and Marilyn Olson.
