World-Class wheelchair tennis player (12th Summer Paralympic Games held in Athens, Greece, September 17-28, 2004 -Team USA singles and doubles; 2016 U.S.Tennis Association Hawaii Pacific Hall of Fame; 3x USA World Team Cup Member; 27 singles and 37 doubles career titles), competitive outrigger canoe paddler (2008 and 2012 World Sprints International Va’a Federation Team Gold Medals; President of nonprofit Pure Light Racing, which promotes adaptive canoe paddling), devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, granduncle, nephew, cousin, in-law, friend, and above all proud and doting father, passed away suddenly November 21, 2020, at the age of 56. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, September 23, 1964, the youngest of three children, he was a passionate, big-hearted, iron-willed, charming, witty role-model with an ever-present twinkle in his eye and contagious smile. He inspired and helped countless others, attained joy in life through meaningful experiences with the most important fatherhood, and delivered happiness to all he knew. Always a hero, now forever a legend. Survived by loving wife of almost 20 years, Christine Mary Greer; son, Dylan Keoni Greer (11); father, Gerald Sr.; brother, Gerald Jr. (Jenny); sister, Kathleen aka “Kitty”; nieces, Chanelle (Emmanuel) and Natasha Fagasa; grandniece and grandnephew, Cataleya and Zenlijah Fagasa-Cababat. Predeceased by mother, Amy (Edamatsu) Greer. Family and friend to so many, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date with inurnment at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
