Joseph "Joey" Louis Telesfor Luna's Obituary
Joseph “Joey” Louis Telesfor Luna, 38, of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his residence. Born to Joseph Telesfor Luna and Susan Lynne Hammack in Flagstaff, Arizona on February 11, 1978. He was a physician assistant with the Waikiki Health Center.
He attended New Plymouth High School in New Plymouth, Idaho; Boise State University, Boise, Idaho; and Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
He began his passion and his career in the health field as a physician assistant at the Waikiki Health Center where he truly made himself a household name and where he was well loved and respected by both his colleagues and patients.
He lived in Arizona, Oregon, and Idaho and then finally made his stay in Hawaii.
He was married to Denise Aurio on February 29, 2012 at the Kaneohe Sandbar.
The most important event in his life next to his marriage was the birth of his daughter Jessa who was born on November 9, 2014. She was the light of his life and the sparkle in his eye, she was truly “Daddy’s Little Girl”
Joey’s favorite holiday was Halloween, he was always one for the spirit of the season from dress up to handing out candies to the children.
Joey was intelligent, generous, sarcastic and a jokester. For those who knew him, truly knew that he was just an all-around fun filled person to be with. He knew how to lift your spirits and poke at you.
He loved the ocean, he especially loved snorkeling and going out to the sandbar in Kaneohe.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Luna; daughter, Jessa Luna; mother, Susan Salove; step-dad, Neal Salove; brother, Andy Lieurance; sisters, Michelle Gonzalez, Thereasa Lieurance, June Luna and Irene Hobbs; step-brother, Jeremy J. Salove; step-sisters, Mary Salove and Jessi Tookey.
Service for Joey will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary (located at, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744); visitation from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.; service to begin at 6:30 p.m.
