Karen Leilani Kamakele's Obituary
Karen Leilani Canto Kamakele died at Desert Valley Hospital in Apple Valley, California on March 23, 2015.
She was born to Manuel and Doreen Canto on March 27, 1952. A graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy, she and husband, James Kamakele from Waimanalo moved to California in 2011. She worked for Finance Insurance in Honolulu, Hawai`i as a Commercial Line Account Manager. Karen loved to cook and “talk story” with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Kelii Kamakele; sisters Charlene Canto Kazner (Dennis), Carol Kanani Hamilton (Donald) both of California and Rene Canto Langstaff (Brian) of Honolulu; daughter Shalia Kamakele; hanai sons Jason Kamakele and Kaulana Kamakele; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary located at 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii. Burial will follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
