Kawena Lani Kealaonaonaokaawapuhi Wreath Kawainui Coyaso's Obituary
Kawena Lani Kealaonaonaokaawapuhi Wreath Kawainui Coyaso, 28, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Straub Clinic and Hospital. She was the third of four children born to Mervin Lani Kawainui (d) and Lurline Kawaimapunaokalani Wreath Kahihikolo on July 1, 1987 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She attended Koolau Baptist and then Ben Parker Elementary, from there she was promoted and attended King Intermediate, then unto James B. Castle High School. After graduating she went to further her education at Hawaii Pacific University where she earned her BA in Science.
She went on to work at the following: Wilson Home Health Care as a certified nursing assistance; Island Events and Promotions as an event manager and lastly at Kina 'Ole Estate a private care home located in Kaneohe as a senior living home health provider, manager.
She married the love of her life Lawrence Kekoa Coyaso on April 20, 2013. She was a member of New Hope Town located in Manoa.
Lawrence and Kawena purchased their very own home to begin their life long journey in Ewa Beach. Kawena was a beautiful, loving, Caring, happy, and free spirit who was full of life and loved the company of her family and friends, and always lending a helping hand where it was needed. She had many friends, Kawena was dedicated to her job and enjoyed working with the elderly. She will be missed by all who came in and out of her life.
Kawena was involved with the 2004 Aloha Festivals Court, New Hope Townkids, Kaneohe Canoe Club and Big Sister for Keiki O’ Ka Aina. The important events that happened for Kawena was receiving her BA in Science from Hawaii Pacific University and the day she was wed to Lawrence. She also enjoyed dancing hula, paddling, serving at her church, and beach time with her family and her doggy children – Tama and Hina. She enjoyed listening to Christian and Hawaiian music.
Kawena is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence K. Coyaso; mother, Lurline K. Kawainui; brothers, Kawehi Kawainui, Kawelo Kawainui, Isaac Dikilato, and Brian Coyaso;
Sisters, Kawekiu Kawainui, Debbie Gomes, Patricia Dikilato, Natilie Freitas, Lenora Coyaso, Jade Stratton, Janell Coyaso, and Ranell Coyaso.
Visitation 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel; service to begin at 10:00 a.m.
