Larry Patrick Reece's Obituary
Larry “Pat”rick “Tigger” Reece was born October 14, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Roy and Mozelle Reece. His parents moved to California in the 50’s. He went to Victor Valley High School where he met and married his high school Sweetheart, Kathleen for 46 years.
Pat served his country during the Vietnam War. They then lived in Huntington Beach for ten years where they had two sons, Jason and Cole. In 1980, they moved to the Big Island of Hawaii where he had a church and did what he loved most, which was serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Eight years later the family moved and settled on the windward side of Oahu where Pat worked in ministry for a short time before starting his own masonry company, First Choice Masonry.
He never tired of giving his time and energy for others. Over the years he served on several Boards and worked to help the ministry Del Corazon in the Dominican Republic. He loved to perform weddings and babies first birthdays. Any time he could give his time to others he was always willing.
“He was an amazing husband, loving Dad, always leading by example to his sons, and fun loving “Papa” to his grandsons.”
To his many friends and co-workers he was more than just a friend. He became a father figure to many of the young men in our lives. Pat was just Pat….. Words cannot express the impact he made on others the time he was here with us. In a lot of ways the work that he did will forever be set in stone in more ways than one. I think that is the way he would have liked it. We never know the impact we make on a person, and Pat made a lifetime of impact in all of our lives.
His work will forever be set in stone.
“Dad was a vibrant charismatic soul who touched so many lives with his positive outlook. He loved the ocean and was very close to the elements. He showed a great appreciation for the good things in life. His works spoke more than his words and he lived to serve Jesus.”
