Lee is the reason I came to Hawaii (and I’m still here). Every time I pass the Sea Verse at Kewalo Basin I think of him. He was a great fisherman, reading the ocean, the birds and waves. He could fillet fish in a snap and cook them perfectly according to the type. He was funny, too, in a lightly sarcastic way, and had a distinctive laugh. He was really sympathetic when I went out fishing with him and Tom and was supposed to be the cook. I was very seasick and could only chum the waters. I think he lived a pretty full life, of fresh air and adventure above and under the water. Fair winds and following seas, Lee.
