Leon Ray Severs' Obituary
Leon Ray Severs mostly known as "captain Lee" passed away on January 2 2025 in his Hometown Kailua on the Island of Oahu Hawaii at the age of 91. Leaving his birthplace in California Lee spent his early years deep sea diving and captaining various vessels around the world. Lee settled in Hawaii in the 60s and started running charters for various sport fishing boats out of Kewalo Basin. As he was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing it came natural for him. Eventually operating his own business Lee's boat, the SeaVerse was his joy of life and mentored many Captains that had the opportunity to run one of his 3 boats throughout the years. As many old sea dogs of his generation have already passed, Lee will be missed by his friends and the fishing community. Lee chose to be buried at sea and his ceremony will take place on February 25th.
