Matthew Manuel Swain's Obituary
Matthew M. Swain was born on November 12, 1963 in Honolulu, HI. He passed away at the age of 54 on Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was the youngest of 6 children, born to his beloved parents, Madeline and Clyde Swain. Matthew is survived by his three beautiful children Matthew, Shannen and Noah; His brothers, Paul (Paulette) Swain, Casey (Ida) Swain, Michael (Lani) Swain; Sisters, Bernadette Chamizo and Kathleen Swain; Many nieces and nephews.
He was a 1980 graduate of Kaimuki High School, followed by his Associates Degree from the University of Hawaii. Later he would marry Edine Kunishima on November 26, 1994.
Matthew was an outstanding Journeyman and Mason who helped build the community of ‘Oahu. He then moved on to work at Pearl Harbor maintaining our ships and submarines. He ended his career, working for the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation doing what he loved, which was driving trucks.
Matthew spent his time as a coach for his sons’ and daughter’s baseball and soccer teams as they grew up. He was a much-loved man who was a very loyal, loving and kind hearted family man. He was always there to help you and to make you laugh. Cleaning, Car shows and listening to music were just a few hobbies he enjoyed, he especially loved Elvis the 60's, oldies and classic rock.
