My first fond memory of Mike was almost 30 years ago, when we visited Hawaii with his new born grandson Maxime. We were driving through Big Island, I was discovering the luxurious vegetation and the amazing landscape and Mike sang for hours all the nursury rhymes he could recall... humpty dumpty, baa baa black sheep and so on...
He obviously requested from me the French catalog of nursery rhymes.
In the 90's, he was usually not where one thought he was supposed to be. Hence, Wendy and I created his email that he kept to communicate with many of us "[email protected]". Well, I think we can continue to email him at this address.
As a family, we visited Sid and Mike many times in Hawaii and it was always a good time. Mike and I spent time cooking and drinking, drinking whilst cooking or even eating and drinking.
A very fond memory was when we showed him "Google Earth" about 15 years ago... and we zoomed into his Scottish village whilst we were sitting by the pool in Kailua. He was pointing at the playground where he used to play, his school, the different shops he recognized. That was a unique and very emotional moment.
Take care wherever you are Mike. Je t'embrasse.
Benoît
